Ischemia-modified albumin and fibulin-5 as diagnostic and prognostic markers for acute cerebrovascular disease

چکیده
Abstract Background Fibulin-5 and ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) levels increase in acute phase of cerebrovascular diseases, yet data regarding their various stroke subtypes correlation with severity prognosis are still insufficient. This work aims to evaluate serum IMA fibulin-5 as markers for early detection predicting disease. Method case-control study was done on 100 patients first time stroke, assessed by the National Institute Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Glasgow Coma (GCS) within 24 h after event, lesion volume calculated, were measured few hours compared 75 control subjects. Three months later, modified Rankin (MRS). Results significantly higher patient than group positively correlated NIHSS score but inversely GCS score. statistically hemorrhage group, whereas infarction group. MRS at onset not IMA. Conclusion increased during only shows significant prognosis.

Correlation between ischemia-modified albumin and lipid levels in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease.
Acute cerebrovascular disease (ACVD) is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, however, molecular markers to aid in its early detection are lacking. In this study, we examined the correlation between serum ischemia-modified albumin (IMA), a marker used to identify ischemic events in the heart, and blood lipids in patients with ACVD. S...

OBJECTIVE To investigate diagnostic value of ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) levels in patients applying to emergency with symptoms of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and acute ischemic stroke (AIS). METHODS Two patient groups (ACS and AIS) and a control group were constituted. The study was discontinued upon reaching 30 patients in each group. Following patient approval at the initial visit, a...

mean concentration of 0.63 mmol/L, is a powerful acute phase reactant as it changes dramatically during vascular injury and inflammatory processes5. Albumin acts as a buffering agent for endogenous or exogenous toxic molecules due to its various ligands binding ability4,5. The biochemical mechanisms modifying the amino-terminal region of albumin during ischemia are unclear, but reperfusion afte...
متن کاملIschemia-Modified Albumin: Its Diagnostic Implications and Shortfalls
Patients presenting with chief complaint of chest pain or other signs suggestive of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in hospital is often time-consuming, expensive and problematic to arrive to the definitive diagnosis for the cause of chest pain. Recent research has found that ischemia-modified albumin (IscMA) is an ideal biomarker for ischemia. It is highly sensitive and detectable in the early p...
